Kittitas, WA is located in the heart of Kittitas County. The city of Kittitas was incorporated in 1931 and constructed as part of the westward expansion of the Chicago Railroad. The Kittitas Yard and Depot became the center of the community of Kittitas. The area has grown significantly since those early days. The most recent addition to this agricultural town is an 80,000 sq. ft. high school, completed in August of 2006. This new facility includes close to 20 new state-of-the-art classrooms, library, theatre style commons and two gyms for the 340 Kittitas High School students. A short drive to Ellensburg and Central Washington University allows for easy access to shopping and continuing educational opportunities. Other local attractions include Jazz in the Valley, National Western Art Show, Spirit of the West, Brewfest, the Kittitas County Fair and the famous Ellensburg Rodeo.
